This photo is probably one of my favorite photos. I took it in my native land: Sicily. The church on the hill is Tindari, in the province of Messina.
This handmade curtain is typically Sicilian. In the background the cathedral of Ragusa Ibla, a beautiful town in the hinterland of southern Sicily.
Blue and white chairs took in Marzamemi, a little town in South Sicily, this surmmer.
These are Messina, the city located in North-East Sicily, and Calabria. There are only 3 kilometers between the coasts.

Blue Sicily II
We are used to imagining and dreaming the sea in summer: clear, crystalline, it instills calm and serenity. But the sea is there even in winter, when we are ofter too far from it. It’s not always calm, it can be agitated and stormy. I took this photo of the winter sea of Sicily, my homeland. For years, the Sicilian winter sea has given me sadness and nostalgia. I learned to appreciate it this year.
